Weekend What's What 11/28-12/2

PUNK'D

Sid Vicious once said ""Today everything's a conflict of interest". With everything going on this weekend you'll need to keep your itinerary tight - from circuit bending to punk rock, the Twin Cities shows it's grass roots in more ways than one. Make your decisions wisely and set your sights on the maximum amount of fun.

MUSIC PICK: CHEMICAL HAWK

Sonically inclined duo Jeff Jordan and Zachary Ness charm with their candy coated beats and synth-sexy vox. Keep these birds on your radar - they are definitely pointed skyward.

The boys sat down with us for a quick chat this week...

How would you describe your sound?

Courageous laptop bubblegum. Pure pop for tomorrow. The power of faith and myth explored through motifs of love and heartache.

What is your creative process for making music together?

Blood is routinely spilled. Jeff writes the songs on a guitar or keyboard and maps them out on Zach's laptop. Zach then messes around w/ them for a couple of days and Jeff returns later to tell him what he thinks of them.

Are you coming out with a full length CD soon?

We have enough material for an album. It's really a matter of resources at this point. We'd also like to write a few more gems. We'll definitely put out an EP this winter.

Can you describe your dream dates for all the ladies?

Jeff: Someone who inspires me, makes me laugh, has a big butt, doesn't take shit too seriously, and will save me from the darkness.

Zach: We go to my horse ranch, and go on a horse back ride to a place where I have a picnic set up. Where we will eat and drink strawberry wine, and then ride off into the sunset.

Any shows coming up we should know about?

We have an upcoming show at the Triple Rock sometime in December but the date has not been nailed down. Unfortunately our outsider status and lack of basic networking skills has left our calendar quite open.
