Connect with DJ Bach 2/18

The Sunday night dance party was re-born at Foundation as DJ Bach kicked off his first night as the club's resident DJ. The beats were hot and the dancing hotter as Bach and special guest Soviet Panda worked their special magic in the DJ booth. Video artist Josh McKevitt manned projections, creating a colorful backdrop to the dance floor.

l'etoile magazine greased the palms of especially gifted dancers and style mavens with compliment cards for complimentary drinks, and our friends from Warner Elektra Atlantic Records gave gift bags filled with choice musical swag from Lupe Fiasco, Regina Spektor and Cut Chemist.

A good time was had by all - so we expect to CONNECT with you Foundation every Sunday.

SUNDAY MUSIC PICK

Dance Band

Local funk machine "Dance Band" has been burning up Twin Cities stages for the past year with their high energy and fancy footwork. We were lucky enough to chat with the boys of Dance Band when they opened for Girl Talk at the Varsity Theater this January.

Band Members: Captain Octogon, The Philanderer, The Perfect Beat, The Chop, Boston Lazer, SpaceBar, Double Delicious

l'étoile:
How would you describe your sound?

Dance Band: We sound like Elecro-Funk Junk. We rock intergalamorous good looks and electro-funkalicious magic dance parties around the world and across the galaxy.

l'étoile: What is your best/craziest memory from a show?

Dance Band: OK, so there were these aliens. They had some kind of thing against the Earth, I'm not really sure what it was, but they were on a collision course with our fair planet. We had no chance to think about it, we just jumped into action, fired up our dance powered sonic weaponry, and took those aliens to town. Right past town hall, into the mall, and prosecuted them right there; in the Food Court. Thanks to the denizens of planet Earth and their booty groovement, we saved the day. Again.

l'étoile: What are your best dance moves?

Dance Band: Dawn of the dead, day of the dead, night of the living
dead? It doesn't matter, 'cause when the dead come to life there's only one dance move that will keep you among the living: The Stagger Slide. It's sure to march you right through those hordes of zombies, out of the cemetery, and straight on to morning. DANCE BAND has got the plan, you know we know exactly what to do.
