Tuesday-Friday: Silvercocoon's Fab.com Sale
What: Local jewelry line Silvercocoon is hosting a sale over at e-retailer Fab.com for three days this week. Items available for sale include wool laser-cut cuffs, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, plus some leather and wood earrings. While you're on the site, check out Fab.com's Valentine's pop-up shop, which includes seven exclusive Silvercocoon pieces.

Thursday: Girls' Night Out at Covered
What: Grab your girlfriends and head to Uptown boutique Covered for a night of shopping, wine, deals and freebies. Enjoy samples from World Class Wines, 20 percent off your entire purchase, and a swag bag filled with goodies - make-up, an Idea tank top, and a bottle of wine - with a $150 purchase.

Friday & Saturday: Mighty Swell Men's Sale
What: Guys typically get the shaft when it comes to vintage shopping. But occasional vintage seller Mighty Swell is making up for that with their first-ever men's sale. They're rounded up additional vendors such as Greenwich Village, Things I Found, and It's For Nice (pictured) to fill their storefront with vintage clothing, outerwear, shoes, accessories and retro man-pad decor. The two-day shopping event will also include free beer and a soundtrack from DJ Danny Sigelman, who will also be selling a curated a collection of vintage vinyl with most records priced at $10 or less. Ladies, don't fret: Mighty Swell is hosting a Valentine-themed, lingerie-centric shopping event on February 10.

Saturday: Two Birds Vintage Styling Event
What: Two Birds Vintage is capping off their month-long residency at b. resale with some styling assistance. The vintage experts from Two Birds will be on had to help put together looks from their affordable, finely-edited selection of vintage women's wearables. Bubbly and sweets will be provided while you shop.

What: Next Monday, beloved vintage and designer consignment shop My Sister's Closet is kicking off their infamous semi-annual 50% sale. That's right - that means a whopping half-off all items in both their Grand Avenue and Uptown locations. We've scored gorgeous vintage dresses during this sale for $20 a pop, not to mention never-worn, 1980s Donna Karan ankle wrap heels for $15, so this sale (running for two weeks) is nothing to scoff at. Ongoing: SHIP&SHAPE launches Valentine's Day collection
What: When Minneapolis-based online retailer SHIP&SHAPE launched last fall, we were ecstatic over the charmingly edited collection of clothing, jewelry, stationery and more by local luminaries such as Rachel Blomgren, Annika Kaplan, Molly Erickson, Erin Smith and Isa Gagarin. With their second collection, launching this weekend exclusively at www.shipandshape.com, the collective offers an ode to love with a Valentine's-themed collection called "Be Mine." The romantic collection ranges from the overtly love-themed, like the ceramic mug sets with the phrase "I love you" written out in various languages; or more subtly sweet, like ruffled cotton bloomers and a porcelain lace collar. Each item is available in ultra-limited runs of about five a piece, so get them while they're hot.

Through Feb. 5: Sashay Shantay at Art Shanty Projects
What: Local fashion makes its first foray into the Art Shanties on Medicine Lake with the Sashay Shantay. Shanty-goers can don hardy knits and coats by local designers Danielle Everine (of Project Runway fame), Rachel Blomgren (pictured), Lela Horst Baumann, Carly Shoen and others in a stylized photo booth. Plus, the handmade creations will be showcased in an on-ice runway daily.

Ongoing: "Character in Costume: A Jack Edwards Retrospective"
What: Twin Cities costume designer Jack Edwards is about the closest we'll come to having our own Edith Head. His fabled history has included stints working as the right hand man alongside some of New York’s significant 1960s costume designers, an 18-year tenure as the Guthrie Theater’s Costume Director, and a dozen years as costume designer for the iconic 8th Floor Christmas Fantasy Lands at Dayton's. His sizable body of work - including dozens of costume sketches, photographs, press clippings, playbills, reviews, and 30 actual costumes designed by Edwards - will finally receive its own stage during the Goldstein's Jack Edwards retrospective, "Character in Costume."
