Join us for a stylish evening at Landmark Center on Thursday, August 20th in honor of the premiere episode of fashion design reality show, Project Runway! Mingle with Twin Cities fashionistas and watch teaser projections from 7:30 to 9 p.m., then settle in for the live screening of the premiere episode of Project Runway, shown on the big screen in Landmark Center. The show features two local designers, Ra'mon Lawrence Coleman and Christopher Straub, who will make an appearance at the event.
After the screening, please join us for a post party next door at the Saint Paul Hotel for cocktails and a trunk show featuring work by Christopher Straub!
For the non-faint of heart, the party will move to Camp Bar from Midnight to 2 a.m.!

I understand the rain issues last night, but when my girlfriends and I showed up at the St. Paul Hotel cocktail party, we were told it was "VIP only". None of the ads said anything about needing to have our names on a list to get in. We asked a gal manning the door where we should go, and she told us we could hang out at the Landmark, where we could at least see the fashion show. The Landmark was dead- some quiet people sitting in the dark watching old PR episodes, no bar, no fashion show.
Being we were dressed hott and wanted a cocktail, we ditched the whole thing to hang out at Pazzaluna. Shame; we were really excited about this event.
What was the deal with the VIP snobiness? Shouldn't that have been mentioned somwhere in the advertising?

Sorry you didn't have fun Em. The rain and the last minute change of venue threw a wrench in the presentation of the public event. By 9 p.m. the Landmark did have a pretty packed house and I did hear good things. Ra'mon and Christopher did come by to say hello, invite people to the post party at the hotel and show Ra'mon's new line right before the screening of the new episode at 9 p.m. -- you probably missed that.
The event in the St. Paul Hotel was an invite-only event, strictly for media, fashion industry people and the designers close friends and family. The two events were separate and the VIP was not publicized -- the POST party at the hotel was though, so people were confused.
I apologize about your experience, but we did our best to make it work, despite the last minute change of plans, extremely limited budgets, and two venues to run simultaneously with a small, but very dedicated staff.
I hope everyone else had a fabulous time though, and Em, hope we can make it up to you at another event!
