At yet, the same river that brought such potential for creation is still a force of nature with the potential for destruction as we saw with the tragic events of Hurricane Katrina. United by the collective American story and the majestically feared Mississippi, the eleven artists in Frontier Preaches have created an exhibit dedicated to the duality of humanity. Did you know Grand Old Day is the largest one-day festival in the Midwest? But what we really go for is the various stages packed with the Twin Cities’ best live acts around, all for the price of a wristband. For those of you not following her weekly newsletters, Ms. Paltrow has been sharing her valuable insights to, um, "nourish the inner aspect" on her blog GOOP. The Fug Girls describe its addictive nature best. I'm so in love with it that I've been considering starting another blog called BOOP, within which I will share helpful tips like, "Don't feel like cooking? Try eating out!" But I digress. In Review: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
I managed to not only get into the sold-out Yeah Yeah Yeahs show last night at First Avenue, but to be practically front-row for the entire thing. All the better to see Karen O's amazing outfits! Despite the all ages nature of the show (you could only buy drinks upstairs, where it was overly packed, and the crowd of teenagers turned into a venerable mosh pit), it was a truly inspiring show that will go down in the annals of my memory.
